JANUARY 5-9

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015: stay focused and we will complete this trimester in triumph.

Art 1  1st, 4th, 5th
     Students this week are working on their Rhythm/ Motion picture.  This is done with watercolors.  We will start their mold for the mask Tuesday (I hope).  This mask will take about 2 weeks to dry and then we will continue with the completion of the mask.  Students will also be introduced to printmaking.  The date this week will vary according to how well they are coming on the rhythm project.
  MID-TERM PROJECTS ARE DUE ON THE 20TH.  Remember parents will need to critique their students work.  This will be sent out on Thursday.  Students may start bringing in their project sometime next week.
     Parent/ Teacher conference is on the 27th please come in if you have any concerns or if you just want to say HI =)


Language Art 2nd
     Monday we had a starter talking about goal setting and they needed to argue weather this is a good thing or not.  We then worked on the PTSD articles students were to write summaries for the articles and then write an introduction, counterclaim and even a conclusion.  We will check this on Tuesday.  Students will read their own to students at their table and write reviews on how well they did.  We then worked on the Truce in the Forest article.  This went along with the video of Silent Night we had before break.  Questions were to be answered.  Many students did no have the chance to finish and this was the day to finish up.
     Tuesday we will be correcting all the articles that have been out and get them handed in.  We will then move on to "Game Addiction/Flappy Bird" articles.  We are working on argument writing and tying to get a good foundation on how to support their side.
     Wednesday and Thursday more of the same but will be moving on to Verne close read and go over the levels of DOK questions.  (depth of knowledge) Students will have a variety of questions they will need to answer and will have different levels this will help them be better prepared.

Foundation Art 6th.
     Students will need to complete their depth animals,  they are also working on value scale and the value eggs.  I will be introducing Portraits, proportions and values on what a face will have.  Space and balance will be next.
